Beauty comes from within.

When I was a little girl I always daydreamed about having my own little girls and dressing them up in pretty pink dresses with pretty pigtails and bows. I think I did a pretty good job getting Emily dressed and her hair done everyday. However, I think I've gotten a little lazy over the years and now I let Sarah dress herself.

Sarah's happy as long as she is wearing a skirt. I'm happy as long as they at least have on underwear. This morning I told Sarah I wanted her to wear pants because it's cold, so she put pants on too - a pair that's at least a size too small. My daydreams also included a clean house.

  1. i love her sense of style! You amaze me EVERY sunday. your kids are dressed, hair done, and you're even early for church.

  2. At least she is learning independence and confidence; I think it is great that she is able to pick out her own clothes. I let Brooke do the same thing, except on one day, Sunday; on Sunday all bets are off! Letting her pick out her own outfits has made for some very "creative" ensembles, but it helps her feel good about herself. Yeah, my daydreams also included a clean house, but most times I am shaken awake by the toys scattered around my living room. :)
