Melinda, I think this is great! All of the presents they made for each other were sooo creative, and I liked that they had to take the time to make them. I love it!!!!! I'm going to make sure to show Rich this post, fantastic ideas for next year! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carrie. It's a good idea especially for older kids to get involved in the creation process. The younger kids don't quite get it. I can't take a whole lot of credit for creativity. I page through toy catalogs such as The Magic Cabin, Constructive Play Things, Toys to Grow On and find toys that are easily reproducible at home. I have other ideas for next year that I can share. It's a lot of work, but I think it's a lot of fun and rewarding. Emily LOVED making the dolls and she helped me with the ABC mat.
ReplyDeleteThese are such great gifts! The 12 Dancing Princesses is an awesome idea. I even like the family of pet rocks.
ReplyDeleteThis is the best Christmas post that I've read. You are such an awesome mom! Oh how I wish I could do it over again- with the benefit of knowing your family!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely pass your ideas this way; it is never too late to start for next year! I may need that long to get everything ready. :)
